Daniel Radcliffe Talks Prepping For His ‘Saturday Night Live’ Debut

Daniel Radcliffe Talks Hosting ‘Saturday Night Live’
NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. -- Daniel Radcliffe will work his magic as host on “Saturday Night Live” this weekend and the 22-year-old actor says his past films (namely the eight “Harry Potter” movies) gave the sketch show’s writers a bounty of great material to poke fun at.

“They’re just delighted that I bring with me such a rich catalogue of things that can be taken the piss out of,” Daniel told Access Hollywood correspondent Jill Martin with a laugh, when asked if he’d been the subject of any “Harry Potter” hazing by the cast during a rehearsal in New York City on Thursday. “I think they’re just grateful for that.”

Daniel, who will next be seen in the horror drama “The Woman in Black,” said his beloved boy wizard character will definitely make an “SNL” appearance.

“I’ve been reading the ‘Harry Potter’ sketches and there’s some really, really funny stuff,” he said. “So, you’ll see something on Saturday night, certainly.”

As for whether viewers will hear Daniel speak with his native British charm, the actor said he’ll be exercising his American dialect skills.

“I think I’m only English – doing my normal voice — in two or three of the sketches, so yeah, they’ll be a lot of American accent,” he said.

Pricey Kate Gosselin Cruise Tickets Selling

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Kate Gosselin visits Raw Dog Comedy’s ‘The Phone Show’ at SiriusXM Studio in New York City on October 27, 2011 Caption Kate Gosselin may not have to keep up that coupon blog gig for long – tickets for a cruise with the former reality TV mom are reportedly selling just one day after they became available.

On Friday, it was announced that Kate would take to the seas in August for a Royal Caribbean cruise with fans and while many doubted whether travelers would pay to sail with the mother of eight, cabins on the Allure of the Seas ocean liner – ranging from $1,575 to $5,500 per person — are reportedly already being purchased.

“We are getting so many calls, so many e-mails,” Charlene Failla, Luxury Cruises and Tours president, told E! Online, of the interest in their new oceanic venture with Kate.

While Failla wouldn’t reveal how many cabins have been sold since the cruise’s website went live on Friday, she said the company is pleased with the somewhat surprising response.

“When we first put up our website, we were thinking we would get mostly families,” Failla said. “But then we started getting a lot of enquiries about singles. So just yesterday afternoon we put up a single rate, and we hadn’t even had that [planned].”

Guests on the cruise will reportedly enjoy a “private BBQ” with a “fabulous band” (as well as a morning brunch and Q&A session) with Kate, and the Gosselin matriarch will join trip-goers for a shore excursion.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, TLC pulled the plug on Kate’s reality show, “Kate Plus 8” back in August, prompting the 36–year-old mom to search for other means of employment.

In November, CouponCabin.com announced Kate as a new contributing blogger, writing posts which offer visitors to the web site advice on how to save money.

“No matter what your financial situation is, there’s no reason not to use coupons. It’s like free money in your pocket!” Kate said in a statement at the time. “I’m thrilled to lend my expertise to CouponCabin.com, where you can easily find the best deals on practically everything.”

Kate signed on as a weekly contributor to the website, writing “on topics like how to stretch a budget for a large family, holiday shopping tips, gift ideas and more,” CouponCabin.comexplained in a release.

Viola Davis Feels ‘Higher Sense Of Responsibility’ After ‘The Help’

2012 Critics’ Choice Movie Awards: Viola Davis Talks Receiving Accolades For Her Role In ‘The Help’ Caption

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Viola Davis rose to fan-favorite status and wowed the critics playing good-hearted, lovable maid Aibileen Clark in “The Help,” and the Golden Globe-nominated actress says the recognition for the challenging role is definitely satisfying.

“It feels pretty good!” Viola told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards in Los Angeles on Thursday, when asked how it feels to receive such acting accolades. “I definitely feel like I’ve gone to a different place in my career and I feel a higher sense of responsibility for women [and] for women of color – it feels tremendous.

“I feel like I’m like, stepping into my purpose,” she added.

While she knew she had stumbled upon a very special script when she signed on for “The Help,” Viola said she wasn’t quite sure how audiences would react to the film.

“I knew it was going to be something. I didn’t know if it was going to be negative or positive, but I knew it was going to be something,” she told Shaun. “I thought it could go either way. We were making a movie about maids in 1963 who are uneducated, and it definitely could’ve gone the other way.”

As for whether she’s nervous about Ricky Gervais taking the wheel as host at the Golden Globes on Sunday (where she’s up for the coveted Best Actress – Motion Picture Drama award), Viola said she’s hoping she escapes the comedian’s wrath.

“If he says something about me, yeah, absolutely!” she told Shaun with a laugh, when asked if she’s nervous about Ricky hosting. “But otherwise, he is absolutely hysterical. He can blast other people and I will laugh with abandon!

“If he says something about me, I’m gonna get my ex-linebacker husband and I’m gonna say, ‘Ricky, hey…,’” she jokingly added.

The 69th Golden Globes will air Sunday at 8 ET/5 PT on NBC.

Larry Hagman: Cancer Won’t Keep Me From ‘Dallas’ Reboot

Access Hollywood Live: Larry Hagman Auctions Off ‘I Dream Of Jeannie’ & ‘Dallas’ Memorabilia Caption

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Larry Hagman said his recent cancer diagnosis hasn’t kept him from being a full part of the “Dallas” reboot coming to TNT this summer.

“They gave me a little time off, but in this business, you can shoot three or four shows at the same time,” Hagman told reporters on Saturday at the Television Critics Association Winter Session in Pasadena, Calif.

The actor, who revealed he was battling a treatable form of cancer in October of 2011, also gave an update on his progress.

“My treatments are going along very well,” he said.

The actor is fully engaged in the “Dallas” project, alongside fellow “Dallas” vets Patrick Duffy and Linda Gray, and Hagman said filming is heating up.

“I worked yesterday,” Hagman continued. “I did three major scenes yesterday – and very well too, I must say. And I had a lot of fun.

“They’re not writing me out,” he continued. “But I have some time to make up in the next couple of weeks, so I’ll be working every day, I think.”

In fact, Hagman revealed things have heated up with his on again/off again on-screen love interest Sue Ellen, played once again by Gray.

“Yesterday we did a scene and… she gave me my first slap,” he said.

“You’re not supposed to say that!” Gray chimed in.

“But it was great,” she added with a smile.

“Dallas,” also starring Jordana Brewster, Jesse Metcalfe, Josh Henderson, Brenda Strong and Julia Gonzalo, airs this coming summer on TNT.

Shannen Doherty Talks Kim Kardashian’s Split: ‘My Heart Goes Out To Her’

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Shannen Doherty in a promo shot for ‘Shannen Says’Caption Shannen Doherty’s marriage to photographer Kurt Iswarienko was chronicled for “Shannen Says,” premiering this spring on WEtv, but the former “90210” star says their relationship and marriage have nothing in common with Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries.

“He’s not abnormally tall, which is really good. He’s never going to question my friends about whether they’re gay or straight and never drop it,” Shannen laughed on Saturday at the Television Critics Association Winter Session when asked how her show –“Shannen Says” on WEtv — compares to Kim’s recent relationship.

Shannen, who married Kurt, a photographer in October, and had her big day documented for the upcoming series, insisted the couple’s relationship is pretty solid and nothing like her past two marriages (the first was to Ashley Hamilton from 1993-1994, the second one, to Rick Salomon, in 2002, was annulled a little over a year later).

“Kurt will say we’ve known each other all our lives and we have dated for three-and-a-half years, so it wasn’t a quickie marriage. I can’t judge what happened in somebody else’s marriage. God knows, my one or two other marriages… weren’t so great and they were quickie,” Shannen said.

“My heart goes out to her, I know that,” the actress continued, referring to Kim. “And I also applaud anybody who gets out of something if it’s not working, regardless of the terrible jokes and press that’s going to come in there.”

While not a fan of the reality TV format, Shannen said she does watch a few shows, including “Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood,” starring her former “90210” co-star, Tori Spelling, and her husband, Dean McDermott.

“I personally love ’Tori & Dean,’ and I do not like the reality show forum at all. I, for the most part, roll my eyes and go, ‘Oh my God! That’s so set up…’ ‘Tori & Dean’ seems very real,” she said. “You’re getting to know them on a personal level and let’s be honest, their kids are like, beyond adorable.”

“Shannen Says” premieres Tuesday, April 3 at 9 PM EST/PST on WEtv.

Jennifer Lopez attends Scott Barnes’ ‘About Face’ book launch party at Provocateur at The Hotel Gansevoort on January 20, 2010 in New York City

FIRST PUBLISHED: January 6, 2012 11:40 AM EST

NEW YORK., N.Y. --

There’s no arguing, Jennifer Lopez is in fabulous shape. At 42, she’s got a rock-hard body that rivals a woman half her age.

Healthy Hollywood would love to make its New Year’s resolution to get her abs and legs. It’s an ambitious goal, but probably one that’s not going to happen – no matter how hard I diet or exercise.

So, I will settle for the next big thing: advice from Jennifer’s nutritionist, Haylie Pomroy of East West Essentials. She shared with Healthy Hollywood her top five simple (and very doable) tips to getting slim in 2012.

1. Say Farewell To Fat-Free Foods:
Avoid fat-free products, such as fat-free yogurt, cheese, and baked goods. These products contain artificial chemicals to make them taste better. These added ingredients can slow metabolism and are typically very high in carbs and sugar. Plus, they can wreak havoc on your skin and hair health.

2. No More Artificial Sweeteners:
Avoid all products with artificial sugars such as sugar free sodas, gums and candies. Be wary of products that state they are sugar free, but contain sorbitol, suclilose, aspartame, or splenda. These chemicals actually slow muscle building and reduce calorie burning and get in the way of a healthy lifestyle.

3. Be Sure To Hydrate:
Drink 1/2 of your body weight in ounces of water each day. So, if you weigh 140 pounds, need to drink 70 ounces of spring water every day. Many teas are dehydrating, but raspberry tea can actually enhance your hydration and give your skin a healthy, plump look.

4. Have Breakfast:
It’s been hailed the most important meal of the day and it’s true! Need to eat a healthy breakfast within 45 minutes of waking up to fire up metabolism. Haylie suggests making a smoothie with uncooked rolled oats, raw nuts, and fruit.

5. Do A January Detox:
To get rid of any bad food hangovers from 2011, it’s a must to do a cleanse in January. Haylie created a line of products called Optimal Cleanse and Optimal Fat Flusher, both of which have long term weight loss results because they help to release toxins that can plateau many diets. Jennifer Lopez is a huge fan of the Optimal 5-day Cleanse.

Pretty simple tips, right? And remember, Jennifer Lopez is getting the same diet advice. For more tips and to find out about the Optimal Cleanse, check out www.eastwestessentials.com.

Valiant Dad! Brad Pitt’s Knee Injury & Cane Explained: I Slipped Carrying My Daughter

The 23rd International Palm Springs Film Festival

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt arrive at The 23rd Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala at the Palm Springs Convention Center in Palm Springs, Calif., on January 7, 2012 Caption Brad Pitt has been sporting a new accessory in recent days – a cane – due to an injury to his ACL (a ligament in the knee).

Seeing the sexy star with a walking stick has baffled fans, but the mystery has now been solved.

The “Moneyball” star revealed he suffered the injury in order to protect his daughter during an accidental fall.

“I was carrying my daughter [Vivienne] down the hill and I slipped,” Brad, 48, explained to reporters at the 23rd International Palm Springs Film Festival in Palm Springs, Calif., on Saturday. “It was either her or me.”

Brad’s longtime love, Angelina Jolie, said she doesn’t mind Brad’s new adornment.

“I like the cane,” she told reporters, adding that the injury hasn’t slowed Brad down. “He’s not that kind of guy. He does everything still.”

Thanks to dad Brad’s valiant actions, Angelina said their 3-year-old daughter did not sustain any injuries.

“Vivie’s okay,” Angelina said. “She was absolutely fine.”

Angie also revealed that she too has sustained an injury for the sake of her offspring.

“I think all parents get injured in the line of fire. When Maddox was young, I fell and hurt my elbow,” she said. “It’s a pretty common occurrence.”

Andy Cohen Ready To Take Over Late Night, Planning ‘Ralph Fiennes Pajama Party’

Host/executive producer Andy Cohen speaks onstage during the ‘Watch What Happens: Live’ panel during the Bravo NBCUniversal portion of the 2012 Winter TCA Tour at The Langham Huntington Hotel and Spa, Pasadena, on January 7, 2012Caption

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Andy Cohen’s “Watch What Happens: Live” begins its new era tonight, expanding to five nights a week, and the Bravo executive and host has some big things in store for the first few episodes.

“Four words: ‘Ralph Fiennes Pajama Party,’” Andy told reporters at the Television Critics Association Winter Session in Pasadena, on Saturday, of the upcoming event, set to air live on January 20. “A week from Thursday we have our first annual ‘Ralph Fiennes Pajama Party.’ We have me, Ralph Fiennes and Holly Hunter in PJs in the clubhouse.”

Other guests lined up for the first few weeks include Rosie O’Donnell and Jimmy Fallon.

The late night Bravo show, which unlike the rest of late night, actually airs in real time (for the East Coast), and doesn’t pre-interview guests, also sets itself apart with its tiny set — The Clubhouse — modeled after Andy’s own den.

The show also serves its guests cocktails.

“We’ve had people who don’t drink and everybody’s welcome,” Andy said. “You don’t have to drink, it’s optional.”

Andy is hoping to expand the type of guests his show attracts now that it’s five nights a week, and his wish list includes St. Louis Cardinals third baseman David Freese.

“He won the world series for us, I think he’s amazing… I think Michelle Obama would be incredible, it’s an election year,” Andy said, adding, “Don’t laugh,” when some of the room chuckled.

“Madonna would be amazing, Diana Ross, some of my diva icons and I love funny people, I especially love funny ladies, so fill the clubhouse with funny ladies and I’m good,” he added.

Sandra Bernhard joins the show as a correspondent, and Andy said she’ll offer her own unique take on current events.

“Sandra’s gonna be perched at the bar and she’s gonna do a live rant about the week in pop culture as only she can do,” he said.

“Watch What Happens: Live” kicks off tonight at 11 PM EST/PST on Bravo.

“We got married and we wanted you to hear it from us first,” Hillary added, as picturesque footage of the couple on their wedding day was shown. “We love you!”

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Chris popped the question six months ago.

“Chris proposed exactly the way I’ve always dreamed,” the singer told People at the time. “Our families were close by, but it was just us out on a beautiful deck overlooking a lake in East Tennessee. We had just been on a hike and – in our workout clothes – he hit the knee! We feel so blessed by God that He sent us each other, and we are looking so forward to forever together.”

The beautiful brunette met Chris, who reportedly inspired the band’s hit, “Just A Kiss,” while touring with country star Tim McGraw in 2010, the mag reported.

Jennifer Lopez, Randy Jackson & Steven Tyler Talk ‘American Idol’ Return

Judges Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez, and Randy Jackson speak onstage during the ‘American Idol’ panel during the FOX Broadcasting Company portion of the 2012 Winter TCA Tour at The Langham Huntington Hotel and Spa, Pasadena, on January 8, 2012Caption

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Singing reality competitions may be all the rage, but the folks at “American Idol” aren’t worried about competing with anyone.

“This show’s a phenomenon. ‘American Idol’ is the gold standard of this stuff,” FOX President of Alternative Programming Mike Darnell said on the “American Idol” panel during the Television Critics Association Winter Session in Pasadena on Sunday.

When a reporter brought up Simon Cowell’s newcomer to the block –“The X Factor” – which also features former “Idol” judge Paula Abdul, current “Idol” judge Randy Jackson said his show is standing strong.

“Simon and Paula are dear friends of ours… I think that ‘Idol’ is still the best TV of its kind anywhere, and we invented this whole game and everyone’s kind of copying it,” Randy said, referring to shows like “The X Factor” and “The Voice,” which were brought up numerous times during the TCA panel. “We wish him well.”

Season 11 of “American Idol” brings the return of the entire “Idol” judging panel – Randy, Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez, and the lone lady of the bunch said fans can expect more of the same from the group, including her emotions, which were so prevalent last season in the audition rounds.

“It hasn’t changed, we’re still the same people. I’m still an emotional person… We’re a little bit more comfortable, we’re still having fun,” she said. “We have amazing talent so that always makes it more exciting.”

“There are more dresses this season,” Ryan Seacrest chimed in, referring to his co-star’s fashions.

Steven revealed that behind the scenes, his life has changed since appearing on “Idol,” despite his superstar rock ‘n’ roll status.

“[Last season] it wasn’t really accepted up front [with the rock community], mostly from my own bandmates because they didn’t know what was going on with the Aerosmith thing at the end. But it’s brought younger kids to our music anyway,” he said, noting Aerosmith sales last year were up 260 percent.

Additionally, the rocker said it’s been hard for him to now step out in public.

“It’s like, ‘Really?… I can’t go anywhere anymore,” he said.

Much talk has been made about the future of host Ryan, who will wrap up his contract with “Idol” at the end of the season, but he hinted he wants to stay with the show should contract negotiations work out.

“I love this television show and I’ve been part of it for so many years, I can’t imagine not being a part of ‘American Idol,’” Ryan said.

“We love Ryan,” Mike chimed in. “I can’t imagine the show without him.”

The panel also stood behind “Idol’s” Season 10 winner Scotty McCreery, referencing his success as being greater than winners of other talent shows like “The Voice’s” Javier Colon.

“I think the only three artists that are bigger [than Scotty McCreery] are Adele, Rihanna and Gaga,” Randy said.

Jennifer will be balancing a multitude of jobs as she resumes her “Idol” duties this season, including producer work on “Que Viva!,” actress and fashion designer, and she said being a working mom is turning out all right.

“They are so little and cute. It’s a juggling act, just like any, you know, single mom, it’s just balancing everything out and making sure they’re OK,” she said of her nearly 4-year-old twins Max and Emme. “They come first… They feel loved happy and… they are, the most important thing in my life.”

“American Idol” Season 11 premieres January 18 at 8/7c on FOX.

Jennifer Lopez Excited For The Return Of ‘In Living Color’; Open To Returning To Show’s Specials

“It’s what?” Jennifer said, when AccessHollywood.com asked her if she’d want to be a part of the show, which returns with an updated version of the sketch comedy, in two half-hour specials in Spring 2012.

“Oh my God, I didn’t even know! That’s awesome,” she told Access on Sunday after the Television Critics Association Winter Session panel for “American Idol” of “In Living Color” being revived.

“I haven’t heard from [Keenen], but if he called me and wanted me to do something, that would be awesome,” Jennifer said.

Jennifer said she’s remained grateful to Keenen for giving her such a great start and encouragement in her younger days when she was a Fly Girl.

“I owe Keenan a lot. From the beginning of my career, he always believed in me, he always was constantly putting in my brain, ‘You’re gonna be a star, you’re gonna be a star, do you know that?’ And he was a mentor to me so I wish him the best with that,” she added.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, original creator and executive producer Keenen will host the new episodes.

The specials will feature young talent, musical performances and special guests.

“In Living Color” originally aired between 1990 - 1994 on FOX.

Daniel Radcliffe Raves About Girlfriend: ‘She Loves Me For My Oddness’

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Daniel Radcliffe attends the New York premiere of “Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 2” at Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center, New York City, on July 11, 2011
Caption Daniel Radcliffe may have won the hearts of millions playing J.K. Rowling’s beloved boy wizard, but the “Harry Potter” star feels lucky to have won the heart of girlfriend Rosie Coker off-screen.
“I hated dating, because I’m crap at it!” Daniel told Parade magazine in an interview for Sunday’s issue. “With Rosie, I didn’t know what was appropriate, like on which date you’re supposed to try and kiss her.”
The actor’s lack of knowledge in the romance department led to an initially awkward encounter with his ladylove.
“I went to kiss Rosie and at the last minute lost my nerve and ended up kissing her neck, which is a very intimate place to kiss somebody on the second date,” he told the mag. “Fortunately, she just found it really funny.”
Daniel, who will next be seen on the big screen in “The Woman in Black” – a thriller slated to hit theaters on February 3 — insists he’s “not an easy person to love,” and shared some of his less attractive traits.
“There are lots of times when I’m a very good boyfriend, but there are times when I’m useless,” he said. “I mean, I’m a mess around the house. I talk nonstop.”
Adding, “I become obsessed with things (fantasy football, most recently). And she listens to it, and she loves me for my oddness, my awkwardness – all of those things that I hate about myself.”
For the full interview with Daniel, check out Sunday’s Parade. (Source-NBC)

Actresses are too thin to be healthy – Raveena Tandon

raveena tandon 200x292
Raveena Tandon, who started her career with “Patthar Ke Phool”, says the current lot of actresses are under a lot of pressure to look slim and in the process, are compromising on their health as a result unable to withstand the rigors of the job.
“After coming to this industry, we actresses face so much pressure to look thin all the time. We are working at erratic hours…we also go through such strict diet plans, it is important to have a strong base,” she said.
“These days we get to hear news of actresses fainting due to dieting or working non-stop for 24 hours or for 36 hours. But touchwood, I have never fainted in my life till now,” the 37-year-old actress added at an event to announce her as the brand ambassador of Seven Seas Cod Liver Oil.
Raveena feels actresses of her generation were a lot healthier as compared to the current crop.
“I did ‘Patthar Ke Phool’ when I was 16 and from that day onwards I have been shooting. That time people were not conscious about their looks to such an extent. We were very healthy back then. Me, Kajol, Manisha (Koirala) — when we had come, we were strong, we looked like we belonged to healthy families,” said the actress last seen in “Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap”.
Raveena had taken a sabbatical after her marriage to Anil Thadani in 2004 and made a comeback last year with “Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap”. Now she has signed a couple of projects and is currently shooting for “Gin Liya Aasmaan”.
She will also be seen in “E-dil Sambhal Zara” and “Shovna Seven Nights”. – IANS

I’ll definitely marry, but not thinking about it now – Vidya Balan

vidya balan 200x295
Actress Vidya Balan says that she believes in the institution of marriage and cannot avoid it for long, but she is not thinking about it right now.
“My career is going good. I am very happy. Emotionally and mentally I am in a very happy space, by god’s grace. I am not thinking about marriage as of now, but I’m sure a right time will come for it also. I believe in the institution of marriage. I will not ignore it for a longer duration, but yeah, for now, I am keeping it aside. I will definitely get married,” said Vidya.
The actress is said to be dating CEO of UTV movies Siddharth Roy Kapoor.
After the super success of her “Dirty Picture”, Vidya is promoting her forthcoming film “Kahaani”, directed by Sujoy Ghosh. She will also be seen in Nikhil Advani’s “Chand Bhai” opposite Akshaye Khanna.
Vidya admits it’s the greed for good roles that keeps her on her toes.
“I am a very greedy actor. I want to play different people, I want to do different kinds of films. Even if it means that the hero is the protagonist, as long as I have enough to do in the film I am more than happy doing it,” the 33-year-old actress said during the launch of the first look of her new film “Kahaani”.
“I am very happy with the kind of films being made today and that I am getting a chance to work in them. They are appealing to the audience as well, which is most important. Women-oriented films are being made since years, but it is only today that they are tasting success,” Vidya added while sporting a fake baby bump during the launch.
She is not restricting herself to women-oriented films, says the actress who has done films like “Parineeta”, “Ishqiya” and “Paa”.
“I have not made any boundaries or limitations for myself. I have not dictated myself that if the script is women oriented only then I will work in it or anything. If the film is good, if the role is good I will definitely do it,” she said. – IANS
